Dedupe rule ignores the location type for Email/Phone but does not ignore for Addresses. Should we make this consistent

B please. This has been a point of frustration when importing. Make the location type simply a label without deduping consideration. I thought it always takes into account location type.

how can i delete reserved dedupe rules in civicrm

you can't from the backoffice, you need to edit the rule in the table civicrm_dedupe_rule_group and set is_reserved to 0

Weight Threshold error when creating a Deduplication Rule

This has been fixed and will be part of next 5.36 release this week. You can either wait for the never version release or apply patch from here. HTH Pradeep

Limit duplicate search

Unfortunately, the dedupe screen provided by the CiviCRM searches contacts outside the group. But I have found Deduper extension much useful for larger databases.

Hmm. i just set up Email only as the Supervised rule on https://dmaster.demo.civicrm.org/ and had the same outcome. I will raise on https://chat.civicrm.org/civicrm/

Dedupe rule to reject record rather than creating new record

I am not aware of anything in CiviCRM core that would allow you to do so. Depending on your use case you could consider setting up forms that can only be used by authentictaed users.

I assume Civi trims whitespace on both sides of first name and last name before saving into the database. Are you saying if there is a space before and after names dedupe rule doesn't work? If so than ...
