Nov 28, 2015 at 14:44 | comment | added | Andy Clark | Thanks for the explanation - I tried the link you suggested but again webform didn't use it. In fact I saw that link in Views by hovering over the link for the first selected event - the url was dcm-admin.org.uk/node/25?event1=163#overlay-context=civicrm/… and if you click on that link it takes you to the webform with that event selected. I'm wondering if a bug had crept into the latest webform modules as this was working...
Nov 28, 2015 at 14:26 | comment | added | pmoz | By the link, I meant the one generated by the view. Views basically pre-fills the webform by telling it fill out this web form (in your case node/27) with this event (event id). [id] is the token in the view that specifies which event you're referring to.
Nov 28, 2015 at 14:08 | comment | added | pmoz | I believe the link should be node/27?event1=[id].
Nov 28, 2015 at 13:22 | comment | added | Andy Clark | Forgive my ignorance (& thanks for the quick response) but which link? I did set the thousands marker to none for the event id field. The link I have in the global custom text field is 'node/27?event1={event1.event_id},{event2.event_id}' I tried an absolute url but no difference. I feel pretty sure that views is working fine, for some reason webform isn't picking it up. But I don't understand how they talk to each other so hard to know what to do next.
Nov 28, 2015 at 11:18 | comment | added | pmoz | Just an idea. Hover over the link and see if the event id has a comma in it. If it does, edit the view and make sure that the thousands marker is set to none.
Nov 28, 2015 at 10:04 | comment | added | Andy Clark | I had this working on a test site (it still does) but cannot get it working on a live site. I can see that the events code works as it shows me the events correctly selected, but the webform shows nothing selected ( - None - ). I can't see any differences between the sites (views & webform same release level) but there must be something. How is the link made between the view and the webform? If I could understand that maybe I could figure out what's wrong - as that seem to be the problem. Thanks for your help!

Sep 27, 2015 at 16:08 | comment | added | Andy Clark | It is Drupal - can you explain a bit more how Views could generate a default event- I guess based on today's date?
